The mission of the Grand Island Pickleball Club is to promote fun, fitness, friendships, and family time in and around Grand Island by growing the sport of pickleball. 

Grand Island Pickleball Club was founded by Nita Lechner in 2015. GIPC has rapidly grown over the years. We have an active board that offers ways to promote community and friendships while improving skills of players through lessons, skills and drills classes, member get togethers, tournaments, professional clinics and more. Our members are involved in the community with many members supporting other non-profit organizations throughout the year. We spearheaded the building of 8 new pickleball courts at the Veterans Athletic Complex, which opened in July of 2021, by raising over 25% of the funds needed for the courts and working closely with the Grand Island Parks and Recreation department to complete the project.
